Chemical Treatments
LBO
Liquid Black Oxide is an easy to handle liquid that gives an outstanding black oxide finish and color for ferrous metals 260F to 285F. The deep black oxide formed is an integral part of the metal surface. It imparts a high degree of abrasion resistance and increases corrosion resistance when treated with suitable oils and waxes. This formulation produces a fine grained uniformed surface that can be economically applied. In many cases it will serve as a substitute for more costly finishes such as painting, plating, or phosphate coating. Other important advantages are less evaporation, lower fuel costs and more comfortable working conditions. Liquid Black Oxide is safe because; it will not cause splash back at elevated temperatures like powders do.
Black Oxide LT
Offers a superior chemical blackening process for steel that produces a durable black finish at temperatures as low as 260F. The deep black oxide formed is an integral part of the metal surface. Black Oxide LT imparts a high degree of abrasion resistance and increases corrosion resistance when treated with suitable oils and waxes. This formulation produces a finely grained uniformed surface and can be economically applied. Metal Medic 7347
A liquid additive used for replacing depleted oxidizer levels in black oxide tanks.
Metal Medic 7155LIP
A liquid iron phosphate especially formulated for cleaning and phosphate coating iron, steel, zinc, and aluminum in immersion tanks, spray washers, and through steam guns. It puts a chemical coating on metals, a uniform layer of phosphate crystals, providing excellent paint adhesion and resistance to corrosion. The phosphate coating, interlocked with the metal surface, wards off moisture, chemical fumes, air, local electrical currents and friction (all conditions that contribute to the breakdown and corrosion of metals). It is an excellent product to phosphate-coat large, cumbersome parts¬¬–those too large to process through a dip tank or spray washer–with a steam gun.
Metal Medic 7166LIP
A superior liquid iron phosphate with a heavy-duty cleaning system incorporated. It gives excellent color on ferrous metal. It is normally used in a three-stage spray washer, but also works well in dip operations. Its coating weighs 40 to 100 milligrams per square foot.
Metal Medic 7153LIP
A liquid iron phosphate especially formulated for cleaning and phosphate pre-treatment of iron, steel, zinc, and aluminum in immersion tanks, through steam guns. This product puts a chemical coating on metals, a uniform layer of phosphate crystals, providing excellent paint adhesion and resistance to corrosion. The phosphate coating, interlocked with the metal surface, wards off moisture, chemical fumes, air, local electrical currents, friction (all conditions that contribute to the breakdown and corrosion of metals). It is designed to eliminate the need for a post rinse, and be used with the newest dry steam units for a “green” process result.
Metal Medic 7465ZP
A tri-metal, low fall-out micro-crystalline zinc phosphate compound designed for spray washer and immersion tank type applications. It produces an extremely tight zinc phosphate coating for ferrous and white metals.
Metal Medic 7468ZP
A non-nickel, low sludge micro-crystalline zinc phosphate compound designed for spray washer and immersion tank type applications. It produces an extremely tight zinc phosphate coating for ferrous metals and does not contain nickel or copper.
Metal Medic 7463A
An economical manganese phosphate. It is ideal where a coating to reduce friction is desired to prevent galling, scoring or other undesirable part-on-part wear while parts are being conditioned for continuous moving contact. Its performance will meet or exceed military specification: DOD-P-16232, Type M.
